Because conservatives are fucking stupid and easily duped, they have allowed themselves to be convinced that trans kids are taking over youth sports and that trans people in general are mentally ill perverts. Those of us with even a rudimentary ability to think critically know that neither of those things are actually true.

Despite what Riley “5th Place” Gaines and Sophie “Bench Warmer” Cunningham would have you believe, trans athletes are no threat to women and girls. In fact, there are so few trans athletes that the president of the NCAA estimates that, out of 510,000 collegiate athletes in the US, only 10 of them are trans. Not 10%. 10 people total identify as trans in the entire US NCAA athletic landscape. That’s ~0.002% of college athletes. Trans people make up ~1% of our entire population. You’re telling me y’all have allowed yourselves to be duped into crusading with every bit of your time and energy over a demographic of already oppressed people that make up ~1% of the population??!?!?!?!?!?!?

Riley Gaines has built an entire career off of tying for 5th place in a college swim meet with a trans woman. She didn’t get beat by a trans woman. A trans woman did not blow her out of the water, so to speak. A trans woman performed exactly as well as Riley did, and worse than four other swimmers that finished ahead of them. Since that time, Riley has solidified herself as a far right grifter whose main focus is keeping trans women out of sports under the guise of keeping women and girls safe. How do I know she’s a grifter, you say? Because she has to be told what her opinions are by her conservative puppet masters. Observe:

All while boring into that woman with her crazy eyes. Riley Gaines is an unremarkable white woman who’s pride got injured once by a trans woman and who is so lacking in any kind of personality that she had to adopt this façade as her identity. It was her only shot at getting the attention and validation she so desperately seeks. Her husband is also an immigrant, by the way. They’ve been having a helluva time with immigration enforcement and they just cannot figure out why. He’s English! He’s white! He’s married to an American! He’s not one of the bad ones, you shouldn’t be going after this milquetoast family man! It’s almost as if many of us warned these evil twats that the fallout of all the things they were voting for would eventually circle back to them. And, in true conversative fashion, they could not and would not give a shit about anything or anyone until those things personally and negatively impacted them. Now we’re all paying the price for their ignorant selfishness and blind hatred of anything they don’t understand.

Then we have Sophie Cunningham. An astonishingly mid, white WNBA player for the Indiana Fever. I present to you, her stat line over the last few weeks:

Critics have dubbed her MAGA Barbie, and it’s a suitable name for someone like her. A few weeks ago, an interview Sophie did back in February surfaced wherein she was talking about how trans girls and women don’t belong in women’s sports because we have to keep locker rooms safe against the big bad trans people. This is what she had to say about that:

Someone call Alanis Morrissette because Sophie claiming to fret about the safety of women and girls IS, in fact, ironic. Because it was only a few weeks ago when she, a fully autonomous adult woman, agreed to be a ring girl at a UFC fight. A fight in which Conner McGregor was the main event. Conner McGregor who [allegedly -_-] raped a woman so brutally that she had to have her tampon surgically removed. Why is she not included in her platitudes? She also, again ironically, mentions Title IX in video. Title IX is a federal law that was passed in 1972 that bans discrimination based on sex for any school or academic institution that receives money from the federal government. Which is suuuuuuuuuuuper weird cuz overturning Title IX was mentioned multiple times in Project 2025. Bananas, right?! The playbook has been open for everyone to see.

What these male-centered twatwaffles don’t mention is that these restrictions on trans kids, of which there are a literal handful in the entire United States population and even fewer that participate in athletics, hurt their preferred biological women and girls, too. For example- Washington State republicans have introduced a bill, IL26-638, “Protecting Girls’ Sports.” The language in this bill states,

This bill would require every girl wanting to play a sport in Washington state to get confirmation from her doctor that she was born female. AND FOR WHAT?!. Why would a boy, whom each and every one of you has ferociously screeched are so much stronger than girls, pretend to be a… girl? Along that same vein– why would a man transition into a woman to harm women? They simply do not need to do that. Abusers, rapists, and pedophiles get elected to Congress and the presidency in this country. You all act as if men haven’t been a woman’s only natural predator since they made up Abrahamic religion because they were jealous women had the power to bear life and they didn’t. Men do not have to transition into a woman to harm women. They’ve been free to do that since the dawn of time. And it’s funny how no one ever mentions trans boys in this scenario. Weird, right?

Does that feel like keeping little girls safe to you, Sophie and Riley? Does that seem fair and equitable to you? Riley has a baby girl– I wonder if she’ll be okay with a doctor strip searching her daughter when she wants to follow in Mommy’s footsteps and start swimming. I wonder if fraternizing with monstrous rapists keeps women safe or if it sanitizes the violation and horrific assaults they have faced. I wonder if voting for men who openly hate women keeps women and girls safe. I wonder if it’s keeping girls safe when you’re focused on trans girls instead of perverted, predatory men inserting themselves as trusted mentors on teams and then abusing and sexually assaulting their charges. I wonder if it keeps girls safe to align with a party that endorses trafficking and sex crimes against children.

Trans people are not an issue. They are not a problem to be solved. They are not an identity to debate. They are here, they exist, and whether you like it or not, they’re living their authentic lives, and them doing those things does not hurt you in any way. I dare you to find me 100 stories about a trans person being a predator, whereas you will find millions upon millions of cis men preying on children. Clergy, pastors, coaches, teachers, fathers, brothers, partners, friends. Not trans people, not drag queens. Men that we interact with every day and who would have enthusiastically enjoyed a visit to Epstein Island. When you fuckers start caring about the actual threats women and girls face every single day, when you start diverting resources to the success of their leagues, I’ll believe you give a shit about girls’ sports. Until then, shut the fuck up. Your evil, inflammatory rhetoric literally costs people their lives.

While I do believe that youth sports have gone absolutely bathshit banana pants crazy in the last few decades, there are so many benefits to kids playing sports. They learn so many valuable lessons and forge incredible bonds with teammates and make fond memories that will last a lifetime. I don’t think it’s controversial to want all kids with a desire to play sports the opportunity to do so. But then again, I actually love and care about the wellbeing of children. All children. Not just the ones I gave birth to. I suppose that’s the difference between you right wing nuts and me.
